Civil law advice / General legal advice
All TU students can receive a free initial consultation (20 min.) from our lawyer if they have legal problems. General legal advice is available every Thursday at the AStA offices in the city center (S1|03 62).
Advance registration with the AStA office is essential! Please note that appointments are booked up quickly and there may be a waiting period of 7 to 14 days.
To make an appointment, please contact the AStA office by email at rechtsberatung[-at-]asta.tu-darmstadt.de (subject line: “Termin Rechtsberatung”), by phone at 06151-16 28 360 (city center office), or in person during office hours.
The following applies when making an appointment: Include your phone number directly in your email and the topic on which you need advice, e.g., broadcasting fees (formerly GEZ), family law, alimony, criminal law, inheritance, BAFöG, etc.
Advice on higher education law
Anyone who would like legal advice on higher education law (e.g., examination law or impending de-registration, etc.) is also requested to make an appointment as described above under “General legal advice.”

Advice on residence law
If it concerns residence law or asylum law, you can consult Mr. Eilhardt, a lawyer who also advises the AStA. To make an individual appointment, please send Mr. Eilhardt an e-mail with your cell phone number for a callback to: eilhardt[-at-]asta.tu-darmstadt.de.
When it comes to tenancy law, you can get legal advice over the phone from Mr. Binder, a lawyer who advises the Studierendenwerk and is a specialist lawyer for tenancy law. Legal advice is only available on Tuesdays from 2:30 p.m. and only by telephone. Advice on labor law
The DGB Campus Office (German Trade Union Confederation) provides advice on all questions relating to labor law.
