This council of TU Darmstadt deals with issues , basically concerning the university

Following are some of the tasks and responsibilities undertaken by this council :

• Positions itself with opinions in particular with the developments in the university, day-to-day teaching and research activities 
• adopting and changing the basic rules of the TU
• conduct of elections, voting out of office and relieving the office bearers of the TU Presidency
• likewise the election of the representatives to the Senate

This council has 61 members with voting rights.

• 31 Professors
• 15 Students
• 10 members from  doctoral and post-doctoral research
•  5 administrative technical workers
